ABOUT OUR STAFF
We feel very fortunate to have such a supportive, compassionate group of highly trained personnel.
Functioning as a family, most of the staff have been together for over 15 years. When you walk in, you will be greeted by Carol, our office manager, or Terrie, our office coordinator. Terrie and Carol have been working cohesively together for over 25 years. They are very pleasant and knowledgeable, ready to answer any dental related questions you may have.
With three full time hygienists, we can conveniently see three family members at one time. Cindy, Julie, Nicole, and Kelley are professional, caring, and gentle. They take pride in educating patients and promoting preventive dentistry. Chairside assistants Alice and Alison have the skills and empathy needed to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
Looking forward to meeting you and your family, Drs. Dick and Brooke Hikade

Dr. Dick Hikade I was born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I stayed home to go to college where I completed my undergraduate schooling at the University of Wisconsin, and received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Marquette University in 1978. During my senior year of dental school I flew out to Portland to check out the Pacific Northwest. I enthusiastically decided I wanted to make Portland my new home.
My wife and I have proudly raised two grown daughters. My youngest daughter Brooke took interest in her dad's profession and has joined our practice. Grandparenting is my latest and greatest new adventure.
Dr. Brooke Hikade An Oregonian through and through, I grew up in Clackamas, attended University of Oregon for my undergraduate studies and later earned my Doctorate of Medical Dentistry at Oregon Health Science University in Portland.
I joined the practice in 2008, and couldn't have found a better fit. The staff at Sunnyside Dentistry have been loyal employees some for as long as 30 years. Working alongside my father, who has been in practice for 32 years, has been an extremely rewarding experience.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, two labrador retreivers, and daughter. Together we are very active; traveling, hiking, and trying new restaurants. |

Carol: Office Manager
It has been a pleasure working with Dr. Hikade, the staff and great
patients since 1985. We have enjoyed welcoming Dr. Brooke
Hikade into our office as she is a real asset to our practice.
In my leisure time I like spend time with my husband, family and
friends. I love to go on hikes and travel.
We look forward to welcoming you into our practice. |

Terrie: Office Coordinator
The Northwest has been my home all my life, the rain is a welcome sign to its beautiful landscape. I am fortunate to say I have worked with Dr. Hikade since 1988 and it has been wonderful experience. I started as Dick’s assistant the first eight years, and I still assist from time to time, but for the last fifteen years the main hat I wear at the office is office coordinator. Having Dick’s daughter Dr. Brooke Hikade join the staff and being part of a second generation of dentistry is exciting for me to experience. This practice is truly family orientated; we serve the public because it’s what we all long to do.
I’ve been married for 22 years and have 1 grown 19 year son.
From September to March you’ll find our family watching and rooting for our favorite NHL teams and were pretty competitive when it comes down to it!
I look forward to your call and introducing myself to you. I will help make your transition to our office a comfortable one. |

Julie: Hygienist
I was raised in Havre, Montana by a farmer father and a microbiologist mother. My microbiogist
mom took the entire family on an adventure to Honolulu, HI. My mom and I went to college
together at the University of Hawaii where I graduated in 1985. I have been practicing Dental
Hygiene since 1985 and have worked in dental offices in Hawaii, California and now Orgeon. I've
been at Sunnyside Dental for 9 years. I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 lovely
daughters. We love to travel as a family to Montana in the summers and Hawaii in the winters. I
also enjoy night skiing at Mt Hood and playing golf with my Dad. Come in and experience our
wonderful office here at Sunnyside Dental. We look forward to meeting you. |

Cindy: Hygienist
I have spent several years in Alaska and Hawaii before settling down in Oregon. I have been a hygienist since 1982 and have worked with Dr. Hikade since 1992. In my free time, I love to travel, hike and enjoy long, lively dinners with family and friends. My travels have taken me to Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean Islands. |

Nicole: Hygienist
I am a native Oregonian, born and raised in the greater Portland area. I graduated from the Mt. Hood Community College's Dental Hygiene Program in 1993, after spending a few years studying at PSU. I have been privileged enough to work with Dr. Hikade and an amazing staff for over sixteen years. It has also been a pleasure taking care of wonderful patients that have become dear friends in that time.
My husband, children and I live in Mulino, OR on six acres of beautiful property with our cats, goats and occasional roving deer. For adventure, we love to go to the beach, camping and fishing.... sometimes all in the same weekend! We also do plenty of running around in our own back yard. I love living in the country and enjoying life through my children's discoveries. |

Kelley: Hygienist
I was born and raised in Southern Oregon, but I have been in Portland since 1997 where I attended Portland State University and Mt. Hood Community College. I have been a hygienist sine 2002 and have been working with Dr. Hikade since 2006. In my spare time I love going for long runs, or taking my kids to the park... anything outside.

Alison: Dental Assistant
I grew up in Portland and am glad to call Oregon my home. I enjoy traveling and am currently studying Italian in hopes of vacationing there. I was hired upon completion from PCC's dental assisting program with my Associates degree, June 2008. I feel lucky to be working with such amazing, intelligent and friendly staff. I also enjoy hiking, anything outdoors, watching and dancing to live music, fine dining and cooking. |

Alice: Dental Assistant
As a child I was what I have heard referred to as a "military brat." In other words, my family moved around a lot before settling in Baker in Eastern Oregon. In 1989 I moved to Portland to go to college and shortly after, met and married my husband. We've been married for 12 years and have two terrific children. Dr. Hikade hired me as his assistant in 1997 and I have been here ever since. I am blessed to be working with such a caring and dedicated group of professionals. Life is good! |
