Do you know what the filling procedure is like or how having a filing feels? Most people do because nearly everyone has had a cavity at one point in time or another. If you are one of the few who has not, then don't worry. The procedure is simple, and we take every step we can to ensure it is as painless as possible. We will work with you to help you understand what is going on at all times. It will be over in a few minutes, and the integrity of your tooth will once again be restored. Getting Your Very First FillingWhen you have a cavity, it means there is decay inside your tooth somewhere. It could be small or large, but most are somewhere in between. What we do is numb up the area, then drill to where the cavity is. While we are using the drill, we rid the tooth of any decay so that there is only healthy tissue left.We then prepare the filling material, put it into place where the cavity once was, and make sure that your bite matches up properly. After we have checked to make sure everything matches up properly, we cure the filling and you are done. It is easy, and nothing to be anxious about. Cavities are one of those things that nearly every person has to face at one time or another. If you are just about to get your first filling, don't worry. We will talk you through everything and make sure you are comfortable prior to doing anything. Your comfort is our promise, and we understand that nerves sometimes accompany dental procedures in general. If you have any other questions about getting your first filling, or about any other dental procedure you may need, then give our office a call! |
