Strengthening Your Tooth Enamel: X Easy Steps

Just because your teeth look white doesn't necessarily mean that you have strong enamel. Enamel erosion can occur without discoloring your smile. Maintaining strong enamel should be the foremost consideration in good oral care. The good news is that there are several ways to strengthen your enamel.
Tooth Enamel Can't Regenerate
The enamel is the outermost translucent layer on the surface of your teeth which helps protect your teeth from decay. The enamel can weaken due to many factors including, age, genetics, dental conditions, improper brushing, trauma, and poor food choices.
Unfortunately, enamel cannot regenerate once it is broken down. However, you can take strengths to strengthen the enamel that you have left.
Avoid Demineralizing Food
Fermented carbohydrates are found in confectionaries, soft drinks, breads, bananas, breakfast cereals, and other sugar-rich food. When these foods combine with the bacteria in your mouth, it creates acid that eat away at the minerals in your enamel. That's why you should take proper care to brush your teeth after you have eaten sugary treats.
The best ways to strengthen your enamel is to use remineralizing products, like fluoride. Fluoride provides a strong covering over the enamel, fortifying it.
