Do Books About Seeing Us Help Kids Not Fear the Dentist?

This will come as no surprise if you have kids, but many children fear visiting the dentist. Whether it is a fear of the unknown, an unpleasant experience earlier in life, or just a concern about being separated from a parent (even if for a short period of time), some children are just frightened from the moment they step through our door.
Fortunately, we have discovered that there are ways you can help to curtail this fear. A great way is to get your children some books about seeing the dentist. By de-mystifying the experience and painting it as a happy and positive time, many parents are able to reduce or even eliminate their child's fear.
Children's Books
If you take a few minutes to visit your local library, you will find that there are a number of children's books on the topic of visiting the dentist. Helping your child to read through these books can make a huge difference in his or her outlook on visiting us.
We know that the dentist's office is something that is very unfamiliar to most children. And, as you know, most children fear anything with which they are not familiar.
If you are not able to visit your local library, a simple search on the Internet will help you find books that could be helpful to you. However you choose to do it, getting your child books about visiting the dentist will make the process much easier when it is time to come see us.
